In partnership with Alabama State University, the ACLU, RISE and Sports Illustrated, the Reebok Human Rights Award will honor extraordinary activists in the world of sports and athletics. The recipient will receive a cash award from the Reebok Foundation, and support from our partner organizations, to use in their fight.

FOUNDER, FREE ROOT OPERATION
Eva Maria founded the Free Root Operation to help operationalize the belief that access to resources in Black and Brown communities increase an individual's control over their lives, empowers them, and positions the community to advance rather than survive in scarcity.

Historically, the Reebok Human Rights Awards were committed to illuminating the work of dedicated activists. With a legacy of more than 80 recipients from nearly 40 countries, the awards have aimed to unify our global community for good.
Today, activists continue to inspire change. While the tactics and tools have evolved, the mission remains the same 30 years later—protect and uphold the rights of each and every human on this planet.

At the national ACLU, Ms. Roseberry works to reform the criminal legal system. Focusing on issues like policing, bail reform, clemency, the death penalty, and other criminal legal matters her work supports ACLU affiliates across the nation.

During her career, Monique has been honored as one of 12 inaugural members of the LEAD1 Diversity Fellowship Program, a year-long opportunity for people of color and female administrators evaluated by a panel of experts as the industry's most ready to assume an athletics director position.
